Workshops and Events

Thank you for checking into our workshop/class area. We are currently lining up artists and teachers for the spring calender for 2021. Please be patient as we do so. If you know of anyone who would be interested in teaching at our store, please contact Katy or Sandy at 916-587-2770.
Information & Policies:

• Half-Day, Full-Day and Multi-Day Workshops/Classes will be scheduled throughout the year. Once you have paid for a workshop, you will be considered enrolled. Workshops are transferable but not refundable. This means if you are unable to attend your purchased class, you can transfer it to a friend or we can put you in contact with someone that may be on a waiting list. Any transfer will need to occur between you and that person. If you are unable to attend and there is no waiting list, we will unfortunately be unable to provide refunds. Of course, each course may have its own exceptions.
• If you would like to enroll in a workshop that has been sold out, we will create a waiting list. Please email tumbleweedandcompany@gmail.com and let us know you are interested in the sold-out class.

Emergency Cancellations:

In the event of a warehouse emergency and class cancellation, all fees will be reimbursed to the students in full.
Other:

There is no smoking inside the warehouse. Students, teachers and guests will interact with another with respect and consideration. Good manners and conduct will be assumed and anything else may be grounds for dismissal from the workshop/class.
French Theater Workshop with Dee Harvey – $125 Light lunch provided

Create a beautiful fabric and paper Theatre to showcase some of your most prized possessions. Class will be approximately 3.5 hours. Minimal supplies required. All skill levels welcome.
Soldering Basics Workshop (date TBD) – , $125.00

Join our artist teacher as she teaches you the basics of soldering jewelry – the tools, supplies and how to handle your glass as you make three different types of projects to take home. You will make a bauble (round), a square, and a vial for hanging on a chain or ribbon. If you want to personalize it for yourself or a friend, be sure to bring an image or picture for placement inside the glass. Plan on being at the shop from 10am until about 3pm. A light lunch will be included in your class cost as well as all supplies. If you have your own tools that you have never been able to get to work, bring them too! EXPERIENCE LEVEL-Beginner to Intermediate

PRICE-$275 (Class cost includes all materials for use in class. Students go home with their own finished piece, and the knowledge to create their own pieces in the future.)

Limited class size of 10 people

Paper Tree Workshop – Past Class, $65
Build your all season paper tree in this workshop. You will be creating your tree with vintage music pre-printed on both sides of your paper. You will also be instructed how to get the effect of a vintage feather tree.
All materials will be provided to make a complete tree. You choose the shape, size and color of your tree.

Santos/Madonna Crafting Workshop, Past Class – with Cindy Valentini

Please join Cindy Valentini and Katy Halligan in celebrating the Feminine Divine as they help you build your own Spiritual Icon/Madonna/Santos.

We will provide you all of the necessary structural parts – doll, base, and materials to build a cage support. Additionally, we will include a variety of assemblage items to dress up the icon with vestments. Reference the pictures and give thought to personalizing your icon with meaningful objects, i.e. fraternity metals (elks, moose, etc), rosaries, lace, viles, milagros, crucifixes, etc. A large assortment of additional embellishments types of items will also be available to add to your Santos at an additional cost.
Casting Vintage Workshop with Artist Dee Harvey – tbd, $125

Create endless designs with this versatile technique including casting in plaster, chocolate, resin, etc. We will create a mold and a casting from an old Charlotte Doll. You will take home your mold and doll creation. Class is approximately 3 hours.

Minimal supplies required. All levels welcome.
